I’m a mechanical engineer. For years, my work has focused on load, structure, and the behavior of materials under pressure. I never expected to apply that thinking to a dog bed.

My French Bulldog was born with a spinal misalignment. Like many brachycephalic and short-spine breeds, his body distributes weight differently.

As he grew, I began to notice small changes — the way he lay down, how long it took him to get back up, how restless his sleep became.

The Problem With Foam

Most dog beds felt soft at first. But softness didn’t last.
Foam collapsed. Padding shifted.
Support disappeared — quietly, gradually, and invisibly.
For a dog with spinal challenges, that loss of support matters.

Searching for a Better Answer

So I approached the problem the only way I knew how:
as an engineering question.
What if a dog bed wasn’t designed for plush comfort, but for long-term structural support?
What if it could distribute weight evenly, remain breathable, and return to its shape after thousands of compression cycles?
What if it could be fully washed — not just the cover, but the structure itself — without losing performance?

That search led me to AirNest Core.
